A recent leak outlined a mid-credit scene in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness in which Benedict Cumberbatch’s Doctor Strange has a dark, revelatory nightmare. In the dream, he sees New York City in ruins, a dead Wong, Dormammu’s sister Umar, and a glimpse of Kang the Conqueror. Then, upon waking, his third eye opens, and he supposedly hears the voice of Clea pleading for help in the background. As with any alleged leak, this should be taken with a grain of salt, but fans are still continuing to explore all the possibilities, just in case the claims regarding Clea end up ringing true.

These rumors stem from a 4Chan post that was recently shared on Reddit. Considering that the Doctor Strange sequel will be hyper-focused on the multiverse, this could be the perfect opportunity to introduce some new faces into the fold, whether as figures from the main timeline or variants of them. That said, when it comes to who could be playing Clea, a few high-profile names have been thrown around. Initially, Emma Watson was named as a potential actress for the role, though there really wasn’t any basis for the nod.

Rachel McAdams is another option, which makes more sense given that her return to the Doctor Strange franchise has already been confirmed. The question, however, is who she will be portraying this time around. Marvel Studios has stated that McAdams will be reprising her role as Dr. Christine Palmer, but there’s also a theory that she could be playing a second character as well. After her mysterious erasure from one of the Doctor Strange trailers, is it possible that she could be playing a Clea variant as well?

Lastly, the third actress in the rumor circulation is Charlize Theron, who was actually named in the 4Chan post. Given Theron’s past appearances in other sci-fi works like Mad Max: Fury Road and The Old Guard, she would be a fitting choice for the Sorceress Supreme. That said, there have not been any official reports regarding her possible involvement in the film, and there is no indication of just how reliable the 4Chan post is. For now, fans will just have to wait for the film to see if any of their theories actually come true.
