The tweet came from French soccer star and World Cup winner Paul Pogba. In the Tweet, he reveals that he is leaving Manchester United and joining a brand new team, the Verdansk Sparks. Soccer fans should check twice before getting upset as this is not an actual team change, but rather an announcement of Pogba and his new partnership with Warzone. He will be sporting a new kit of the fake soccer team from the fictional world of Verdansk to celebrate the opening of the battle royale’s stadium.
Many Manchester United fans took the Tweet seriously believing that he was actually switching teams, but rest easy as this was all planned in good fun with Activision. While Pogba might not be switching teams, fans may find him dropping in and taking part in Season 5’s map changes from the roving train to the opened Stadium.
Fans got to learn in the comments that there is a large section of the soccer athletes that enjoy Warzone on a regular basis. They often squad up and drop in together as dedicated teams coordinating their in-game tactics about as well as their actual soccer matches.
Pogba also revealed one extra Warzone detail in his partnership. Players were able to learn his favorite Warzone loadout, which includes the Bruen Mk9 Glitch blueprint, Kar98k Open Season, C4, Heartbeat Sensor, and E.O.D., Overkill, and Tracker has his perk set. It is interesting to know that this elite soccer player runs a LMG primary as many fans would expect him to be a submachine gun player due to the speed and versatility of the weapon. Still, his loadout packs a punch and is sure to bring him the win in Verdansk’s famed battle royale.
The tweet gave quite a startle to Pogba’s 7.5 million Twitter following. While many of his audience were unaware of Warzone’s existence, they now at least know that their star soccer player is an avid Activision fan.
